Adding a New Aircraft or Simulator

Adding equipment to your logbook is a straightforward three-step process designed to capture all necessary information efficiently.

Step 1: Select Equipment Type

Choose between two equipment categories:
  • Aircraft – Real flying machines with official tail numbers and registrations
  • Simulator – Flight training devices including FFS, FNPT, FTD, ATD, and other training equipment
Select equipment type

Step 2: Enter Basic Details

For Aircraft

The aircraft entry process includes automatic registration lookup to speed up data entry:
  1. Registration Lookup – Enter the tail number (minimum 3 characters) and click Next
    • The system automatically searches aircraft databases
    • Pre-fills manufacturer, model, ICAO type, and owner information when available
    • Adds owner company as a tag automatically
  2. Manual Entry – If lookup doesn’t find results, you can continue with manual entry:
    • Tail Number / Registration (required) – Official registration (e.g., N12345)
    • Manufacturer (required) – Select from comprehensive list or enter custom value
    • Model (required) – Choose from manufacturer-specific models or enter custom
    • ICAO Type – Auto-filled when selecting from predefined models, or enter manually
    • Aircraft Image – Upload a photo for visual identification (optional, max 5MB)

  • Try entering just the registration number without prefixes
  • Continue with manual entry – lookup is optional

Images Not Uploading

  • Ensure file size is under 5MB
  • Use common image formats (JPG, PNG, WebP)
  • Check your internet connection
  • Try refreshing the page and uploading again

Can’t Find an Aircraft

  • Check if filters are active (look for filter badge count)
  • Clear search terms
  • Verify you’re looking in the correct view type
  • Check if the aircraft might be archived or inactive

  • Flight Log – Log flights and link them to aircraft
  • Reports – Generate reports filtered by aircraft
  • Statistics – View aircraft-specific statistics and trends
