What You Can Do

The Flight Log module provides everything you need to maintain accurate, comprehensive flight records:

Getting Started

1

Add Your First Flight

Start logging flights immediately:
  1. Navigate to Flight LogLogbook
  2. Click Add Entry or New Flight
  3. Fill in flight details (date, aircraft, route, times)
  4. Save your entry
You can add flights retroactively. Don’t worry if you’re starting fresh - you can always import historical data later.
2

Add Aircraft

Before logging flights, add the aircraft you fly:
  1. Go to Flight LogAircraft
  2. Click Add Aircraft or Add Simulator
  3. Enter registration and details
  4. Use automatic lookup if available
Aircraft can be added as you log flights, but adding them first makes data entry faster.
3

Import Existing Data

If you have existing logbook data:
  1. Go to Flight LogImport
  2. Choose your import source
  3. Upload your file
  4. Review and confirm imported entries
Supported import sources include FlightLogger, Vereinsflieger, Luxair, and more. Check the Import page for current support.
4

Customize Your Statistics

Set up your logbook statistics:
  1. Go to Flight LogLogbook
  2. Click the edit icon on the statistics card
  3. Add or remove counters
  4. Drag to reorder
  5. Choose time format (hours:minutes or decimal)
Statistics automatically update as you add flights. You can customize which metrics are displayed.

Best Practices

1

Log Flights Promptly

Add flights as soon as possible after each flight. This ensures accuracy and prevents forgetting important details.
2

Use Consistent Aircraft Names

When adding aircraft, use consistent naming. The automatic lookup feature helps ensure consistency.
3

Add Crew Members

Add instructors, examiners, and frequent crew members to your People directory. This makes logging faster and more accurate.
4

Review Regularly

Periodically review your logbook for accuracy. Use filters to check specific time periods or aircraft.
5

Export Regularly

Export your logbook regularly as a backup. PDF exports are perfect for checkrides and job applications.
